In these classes we focus on building a strong foundation to help you run further, faster, and injury-free.

Equipment:
We don’t use great big weights or fancy equipment and we might not use all the equipment listed, but always handy to have are:
- Workout matt/towel
- Foam roller
- Yoga block or old thick book (one that you could stand on and not wobble off)
- Selection of hand held weights such as dumbells or kettle bells (or a small rucksack with tins or bottles of water inside)
- Resistance band
- Small step (you can use your bottom stair case step as long as you can still easily see the screen and hear instructions clearly)
- Sturdy chair

At the time of booking, please use the ‘notes’ section to inform RunTheShire of any injuries or relevant information that you feel they need to know ahead of the class that might impact your health or wellbeing. Please remember this is a class operated online and the instructor is not there to correct your form, if you experience any discomfort or pain during the session please stop and take a break. Listen carefully to instructions and avoid rushing through exercises. You are strongly advised to not lift weights that you are not confident or experienced in lifting, instead, start off light and build up gradually over the course of several weeks in order to help avoid injury.

By strength training with RunTheShire you will have the support of our head coach Carly, an experienced running coach. Carly is a fully qualified and licensed England Athletics Run and Fitness Coach, CIMSPA certified in Movement in Menopause and The Well HQ Female Body, a Level 3 Qualified Personal Trainer and trained in outdoor first aid.
