Shrawley Woods in Worcestershire is a beautiful spot for a trail run. Characterised by its ancient woodland, we will navigate a network of trails that weave through stunning natural scenery. You can expect a mix of terrain, from relatively level paths, rutted woodland floor to more undulating stretches, but don’t worry the pace will be nice and relaxed and we will stick together as a group.
At the start of our run, the trails take us close to the River Severn, adding picturesque riverside views to the experience. It could be quite muddy here, but the flip side to that is we might get to see some lambs playing in the fields. We’ll then cross over the brook and head towards the small village of Astley Burf, past the Alpaca field. After the village there is a short, sharp up, but this is followed by a fast and fun downhill trail through the woods, where we will join the Geopark Way back into Shrawley. Throughout the run, if our timing is right, there will be a chance to see the bluebells that this woodland is famous for – the smell and sight is incredible.
If the weather is wet expect mud and puddles, hence why trail shoes with good grip is essential for this run, but its all part of the trail running charm.
Once booked on please ensure you have completed a ‘Ready to Run’ form.
