Our trail run around Bringsty Common offers a fantastic opportunity to explore varied terrain and panoramic views of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire borders. We’ll be running through a 220-acre common with a mix of open heathland, woodlands, and fields, with a network of footpaths and streams.  There is also the Bringsty Forge and the famous Gospel Oak to look out for. Bringsty Common is characterised by rolling hills and valleys, so we’ll get to enjoy some steady ascents and descents, across Jubilee Hill and Red Hill, giving our legs and lungs a good work out – but don’t worry, we can hike some of those steeper bits and we will stick together. The views from the top will be worth it, especially on a clear day with views across to Malvern.

If the weather is wet expect mud and puddles, if we are lucky and the weather is dry this route is really runnable, however trail shoes with good grip is still essential for this run.

Once booked on please ensure you have completed a ‘Ready to Run’ form.

Booking for a friend? – Please ensure you book them separately so I have both your details including each individual email, rather than under one person’s name & email. This does mean you need to check out twice as I need all runners individual details including emergency contacts.

*All routes are recce’d before the trail run, however all advertised distances are approximate due to the need to change routes depending on conditions on the day/route closures etc.

Important Information

Our women’s only trail runs are social runs, we hike the big hills, run the downs and the flats and encourage everyone to stay together.

To help you get the maximum enjoyment from a RunTheShire trail run you should be able to comfortably run at least 4 miles/6.5km, be curious about adventure and not be afraid of getting a little bit muddy  – especially in the winter, after all, that’s part of the fun.

Sadly, due to insurance, we are unable to have dogs, buggys or under 18’s join us on our runs. Thank you for understanding.

Ready to Run form

To join a run please complete the ‘Ready to Run’ form when you book (you only have to do this once). The form also includes emergency contact details. If you arrive to a run without having completed this form I’m really sorry but you won’t be able to join us, even if you have already paid.

When you book your first run a ‘RunTheShire’ account will be automatically created using the email address you provide – this is where you can see all your bookings and make any changes to bookings, personal details or In Case of Emergency details.

Cancellations

If I have to cancel the run I will issue a refund. If you need to cancel you can do this by logging into your account and amend your booking to receive a credit to use at a future trail run. Please cancel your run no less than 72 hours in advance so your spot can be reallocated to the waiting list. If you cancel after this time, I’m really sorry, but you wont receive a credit.

The following kit list is strongly advised for this run

  • Summer running clothes, you might want a light jacket if its windy/raining and you feel the cold
  • Sun cap/sunglasses
  • Trail shoes – these are compulsory for your own safety, road shoes will not be accepted on this run, even if its dry.
  • You might want to bring a drink and a small snack if you think you’ll need it. We are likely to be out for 90mins – two hours depending on the group speed.

On this guided trail run around Bringsty Common we might encounter some grazing animals, likely sheep, possibly cows and maybe even some donkeys. These animals are all used to us human’s passing through, we just need to remember to be really boring so they don’t want to investigate us us as we walk past. There may also be some overgrown sections of the trail with stingers, so if you react badly please wear long leggings/sleeves.  It’s also advisable to wear slightly longer socks rather than ankle socks as this time of year the ticks are out in long grass.

A warm jumper coat to wear on the way home is recommended, even if it is warm you’ll be surprised how quickly you can cool down.
