  • When: Sunday 2nd February 2025
  • Time: 9am
  • Distance: 5.8 mile women’s guided trail run
  • Meeting Point: The Polka Dot Teapot, Elmley Castle, WR10 3HS
    W3W location: ///blueberry.tonic.teams
  • Optional coffee & cake post run at the Polka Dot Teapot

A gorgeous trail on outskirts of Pershore, Bredon hill is great for some trail running fun. Its got hills, woodland, great views (on a clear day) and quite a few sheep, oh and did I mention the hills? In February expect it to be cold and windy on the top, there is likely to be lots of mud and possibly some ice so make sure you wrap up warm and dry for this women’s only guided trail run.

We’ll begin our run from The Polka Dot Teapot, from here we’ll run out of the village and up Hill Lane (there’s a clue) towards Doctors Wood, from here we’ll make our way across the ridgeway to join the Wychavon Way and to the famous Banbury Stone (or as its known locally, Elephant Rock). If the weather is clear a view of the Malverns will come into view. After a photo stop, we’ll then head off the back of Bredon Hill, looping back around to Fiddlers Knap and past the ancient ruins of the Castle in Elmley Castle. Finally a fun and muddy descent back down into the village via St Mary’s church.

If the weather is wet expect lots of mud, hence why trail shoes with good grip is essential for this run, but its all part of the trail running charm.

We’ll finish the run back at the Polka Dot Tea Pot, where I hope you’ll stay for a hot drink and a slice of cake.

Once booked on please ensure you have completed a ‘Ready to Run’ form.

Booking for a friend? – Please ensure you book them separately so I have both your details including each individual email, rather than under one person’s name & email. Sorry it will mean checking out twice but as I’ll need ICE details its the only way I can do it.

Important Information

Our women’s only trail runs are social runs, we hike the hills, run the flats and encourage everyone to stay together.

To help you get the maximum enjoyment from a RunTheShire trail run you should be able to comfortably run at least 4 miles/6.5km, be curious about adventure and not be afraid of getting a little bit muddy  – especially in the winter, after all, that’s part of the fun.

Sadly, due to insurance, we are unable to have dogs, buggys or under 18’s join us on our runs. Thank you for understanding.

Ready to Run form

To join a run please complete the ‘Ready to Run’ form when you book (you only have to do this once). The form also includes emergency contact details. If you arrive to a run without having completed this form I’m really sorry but you won’t be able to join us, even if you have already paid.

When you book your first run a ‘RunTheShire’ account will be automatically created using the email address you provide – this is where you can see all your bookings and make any changes to bookings, personal details or In Case of Emergency details.

Cancellations

If I have to cancel the run I will issue a refund. If you need to cancel you can do this by logging into your account and amending your booking for a refund. Please cancel your run no less than 72 hours in advance so your spot can be reallocated to the waiting list. If you cancel after this time, I’m really sorry, but you wont receive a refund.

The following kit list is strongly advised for this run

  • Warm running clothes, think layers for winter running
  • Buff/hat and gloves
  • A waterproof jacket – compulsory if rain is forecast
  • Trail shoes – these are compulsory for your own safety, road shoes will not be accepted on this run
  • You might want to bring a drink and a small snack if you think you’ll need it as we are likely to be out for 90mins – two hours depending on the group speed.

On this guided trail run around Bredon Hill you are highly likely to get muddy, so you might want a dry pair of socks and trainers waiting in the car for when we get back. Plus a warm jumper / coat to wear if you do stay for cake post run.
